determine if your NEOS requires service, you can inspect
the firing pin currently installed in
your U22 NEOS.

below. Note that the firing pin is indicative that your U22
NEOS requires service and is not the only component replaced
as part of the servicing process.

Characteristics of the U22 Neos Firing Pins. There are two means to check your firing pin - in the
firearm or by disassembly.
In
the Firearm Method: Observe the back of your firearm
and compare the firing pin to the images and descriptions below:
Old
Style Firing Pin
This Firearm Must Be Sent in for Service.
New
Style Firing Pin
This Firearm is OK and Does Not Require Service
Newest
Style Firing Pin
This Firearm is OK and Does Not Require Service.
Disassembly
Method: Disassemble your firearm as specified in
you owners
manual (pdf) and and then follow the additional steps
shown to the right to gain access to your firing pin. Once
you have removed your firing pin, compare it to the images
below to determine if you have the old or new style firing
pin.
Disassemble your NEOS per your owners manual.
Support the front end of the firing pin and release the trigger.
Remove the firing pin and spring.
Separate the firing pin
and spring.
Compare your firing pin to the images below.
As depicted
to the left and above, the New Style firing pin has a much
sharper cut in the shoulder in the front area of the firing
pin. If
your
firearm
contains this type of firing pin, you do not need to send it
in for service
